Team Overview

General
Singapore's most recent appearance at the Asian Games came in 2014 in Incheon, where they lost all four of their pool matches. Facing Sri Lanka in the classification round, they ran out 5-3 winners to secure ninth place in the final standings. The team also competed at the Asian Games in 1962, 1970, 1998, and 2010 but they have never won a medal.

The Singaporean team were runners-up at the South East Asian Games five times between 1999 and 2015, losing out on the title to Malaysia on each occasion. They were also bronze medallists at the 2017 South East Asian Games, where they just missed out on a place in the final after recording a worse goal difference than Myanmar during the group stage. Facing Thailand in the third-place match, they won 2-1 to secure a place on the podium.

Singapore's only appearance at the Olympic Games was in 1956 in Melbourne, where they finished eighth in the final standings.
