Team Overview

General
Nepal have competed at both editions of the Asian Games to feature cricket. They qualified for the knockout round in 2010 in Guangzhou after beating Maldives in the group stage, but lost to Sri Lanka by two wickets in the quarterfinals. Four years later in Incheon, they once again progressed past the group round, following victories over Maldives and Kuwait, and faced Afghanistan in the last eight. Chasing a target of 119, the Nepali team scored 111 from their 20 overs and lost by eight runs to the eventual silver medallists.

The Nepalis made their sole appearance in the Men's T20 World Cup in 2014. The team notched two wins in an impressive debut at the tournament, including a nine-run victory against Afghanistan in the preliminary group stage, and were only denied a place in the Super 10 round due to an inferior net run rate.

Nepal won bronze as hosts of the 2019 South Asian Games. The five-team tournament included Maldives, Bhutan, and U23 sides from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
