Team Overview

General
Chinese Taipei have finished on the podium at all seven editions of the Asian Games to feature baseball. They claimed their only gold medal at the 2006 Games in Doha, where they beat Japan 8-7 in the last round-robin game to clinch the title ahead of their Japanese opponents. They lost to the Republic of Korea in the final in 2002, 2010, and 2014, and have defeated the People's Republic of China in the bronze medal game three times [1994, 1998, 2018].

The team won the 2019 Asian Championship after beating Japan 5-4 in the final, which was their first title at the tournament since 2001. They had finished second at the four editions of the tournament between 2009 and 2017.

Chinese Taipei won silver at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, which is their only Olympic medal from three appearances. They have taken part in all five editions of the World Baseball Classic, and narrowly missed out on a place in the quarterfinals at the 2023 edition of the tournament after winning two of their four pool phase matches. In 2019 they finished fifth at the WBSC Premier 12, having failed to progress past the group stage at the 2015 edition. Their best result at the World Cup this century was a third-place finish in 2001.
