"Coach Nguyen Kaohsiung was the first person to introduce me to weightlifting. In 2009 he came to Dong Tuyen Secondary School, where I was in grade seven. During extracurricular hours, he observed my friends and scouted me. He handed me an appointment letter to go to the Sports Training Centre of Lao Cai Province. I went and had a further assessment on my general fitness, as well as trying out certain movements. He saw that I was talented, so he accepted me for the weightlifting class."
