General
CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME
He has been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in his left wrist, but he is also capable of playing table tennis with his right hand. "I am not wholly a left-handed person. For example, I use my right hand to write and eat, but I am left-handed when playing table tennis. I play football with my left foot more. Maybe this is a strange thing. In the past four and a half years [speaking in 2023], I have been having a problem with my left hand, which I have not spoken openly about until now. This problem rarely happens to anyone and it is related to the nerve. It is called carpal tunnel syndrome. It is known to occur mostly in pianists and typists due to overusing their hands. It happened with me due to overpractice and the fact that I played with my left hand. Of course, I must admit that I did not take good care of it. I mostly cover the table with my backhand and sometimes I play with my right hand. I'm having trouble hitting my forehand because I couldn't feel it with my left hand. Perhaps if this happened to any other player, they would have quit playing. Fortunately, with the help of my coach and my father, I was able to regain my confidence and mentally control myself."
