"One afternoon I was cycling and I heard an announcement about finding the best swimmer at a talent search. Without any preparation, the next morning I went to the swimming pool in Rajbari and took part in the sport for the first time. After a few camps, I was able to earn an opportunity to train for about three years under the Bangladesh Swimming Federation. I played cricket as a child, but I never wanted to be a cricketer. I saw an interview with Bangladeshi swimmer Mahfizur Rahman on TV. He was going to Brazil to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games. It inspired me to become a swimmer."
