He began playing squash at age five. "My dad registered me with a state squash association when I was seven years old and that was when I started learning squash properly. I started playing tournaments around Malaysia at eight years old, travelling around the country to compete. I first represented my country when I was nine and continued throughout my junior career." (dunlopsports, 01 Jan 2019)
:
"Ever since I was introduced to squash at five years old by my dad, I immediately took a liking to the sport and fell in love with playing. My dad was a social squash player, and I would always tag along whenever he was playing with his friends. I always looked forward to the evenings after school knowing that I would be able to play squash." (dunlopsports, 01 Jan 2019)
:
To compete at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China. (scmp, 06 Jun 2023)
:
"There is no one way to be a good squash player and this is what I love about the sport." (dunlopsports, 01 Jan 2019)

Additional Information

General
BASED IN ENGLAND
In 2019 he began training with coach Hadrian Stiff in Bristol, England. "I'm happy that I made that move. I train with Mohamed El Shorbagy, Marwan El Shorbagy, and Youssef Soliman as well. They're a lovely bunch in Bristol. Hadrian Stiff has been amazing, he's pushed me to improve and to keep working hard. It was a big thing for me to move here but it has been good. I will be here until 2024." (utusan, 16 Apr 2022; thestar, 08 Mar 2022, 28 May 2021; hmetro, 06 May 2019)

AMBASSADOR
He has served as a health and wellness ambassador for the Professional Squash Association [PSA] Foundation. "I think there's still always this stigma about you have to be really strong, and you have to not show any weakness within the sport, and you have to be aggressive all the time. I think that's slowly moving away, which is good, but I think there's still a lot of work that needs to be done. While we might look really strong outside most of the time, I think we all have our struggles inside." (PSA SquashTV YouTube channel, 15 Feb 2023; PSA Foundation Instagram profile, 15 Feb 2023)
