Team Overview

General
Singapore are returning to the Asian Games for the first time since 1994 at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. They were one of six teams to feature in the inaugural women's hockey tournament at the 1982 Games, finishing fifth, and made their other two appearances at the 1990 and 1994 Games.

The team made their debut at the Asia Cup in 1985 and have competed at seven editions of the event. At the 2022 Asia Cup in Oman, group stage defeats to Japan, Malaysia, and India left Singapore to complete their tournament in the classification bracket. A 1-0 loss to Thailand courtesy of a late goal sent them into the seventh place play-off, where they bounced back to triumph 2-1 over Indonesia.

At the South East Asian Games, Singapore won bronze medals in 1999, 2001, 2015, and 2017. They also placed third in the round-robin in 2023 in Cambodia.
