Team Overview

General
Uzbekistan made their first and only previous appearance at the Asian Games in 2006. In Doha they lost their three preliminary round group matches to Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia before recording their only win of the Games against Macau, China in the classification round. They finished 14th out of 15 teams after losing the 13th place play-off to Hong Kong, China.

The Uzbekistani team competed at the Asian championship in 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2022. At the 2022 Asian Championship they finished with their highest ranking yet at the tournament. Wins over Vietnam and Hong Kong, China saw the team advance to the main round group stage, where losses to the Republic of Korea, Qatar, and hosts Saudi Arabia stopped their progress. They placed eighth overall after a 32-30 defeat to Kuwait in the seventh place match.
