Team Overview

General
Thailand are making their second appearance in the Asian Games men's handball tournament at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.

The team made their debut appearance on home soil at the 1998 Games in Bangkok, where they lost all three group matches and the seventh place play-off to end the tournament ranked eighth from eight teams.

The Thai team's sole participation at the Asian championship also took place on home soil, at the 2006 edition in Bangkok. They conceded at least 40 goals in each of their four group matches and finished as the lowest ranked team at the tournament.

The team has enjoyed a lot more success at the South East Asian Games, claiming gold in 2007 and silver in both 2003 and 2022. At the 2021 Games, which took place in May 2022, they participated in a round-robin tournament that also featured hosts Vietnam and Singapore, and a 25-23 victory against Singapore in their penultimate match proved enough to secure Thailand the runners-up spot.
