Team Overview

General
Hong Kong, China are competing at the Asian Games for the sixth time at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. The team finished sixth out of six sides on their debut at the 1986 Games and then failed to progress past the preliminary stage in 2006, 2010, and 2014. They did reach the main round at the 2018 Games after beating hosts Indonesia in the preliminary stage, but they lost all three matches in Group 2 and were then defeated by Iraq in the seventh-place classification game to finish with a final ranking of eighth.

Hong Kong, China have appeared at the last two editions of the Asian championship, placing 10th in 2020 and 11th in 2022. At the 2022 edition of the tournament they recorded wins against Vietnam and Singapore and defeats to Uzbekistan, Bahrain, and Oman before beating Jordan in the 11th-place classification match.
