He was head coach of the Slovenian men's national team between 2015 and 2019. He had previously coached the Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro men's national teams. In 2021 he had his third spell as head coach of North Macedonian men's club team RK Vardar 1961. Other club sides he has coached include RK Metaloplastika Sabac in Yugoslavia, BM Ciudad Real in Spain, Al Sadd in Qatar, HC PPD Zagreb in Croatia, and RK Borac Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
