Highlights

He won the Icelandic championship on five occasions with Valur Reykjavik between 1991 and 1996. He was also part of the team that won the Icelandic cup in 1993. (handball, 01 Feb 2017)

He served as a player-coach at Japanese team Wakunaga Hiroshima between 2000 and 2003, and at Austrian side A1 Bregenz between 2003 and 2007. He was head coach of the Austrian men's national team from 2008 to 2010. He then coached German club side Fuchse Berlin from 2009 to 2015, before coaching the German men's national team between 2014 and 2017.
