Additional Information

General
EARLY DAYS
At age four, she and her family moved from Australia to Chinese Taipei. When she was age 11, the family relocated to the United States of America after her father changed jobs, so she no longer had a go teacher. She continued to play on the internet, and once she achieved the highest possible level online, her mother took her to a competition in the People's Republic of China that would allow her to attain professional status. She achieved the required ranking on her second appearance at the competition, at age 14, after which she and her mother moved back to Chinese Taipei. "On weekends [while living in the United States of America], I would get up in the middle of the night to play. I did not want to miss a chance to play with the best. I told myself it was my last test [on her second appearance at the Chinese competition]. Luckily, I passed." (futureparenting, 01 Jan 2020; english, 12 Nov 2019)

OTHER ACTIVITIES
In 2016 she signed a recording contract with Seed Music. "I grew up in the go environment and had little connection with the outside world. I wanted to go outside of my comfort zone in order to grow. Therefore, I wanted to challenge myself and do something unusual. I knew many people would not support this decision, but I am the only one that knows what I really want." (elle, 28 Feb 2021; english, 12 Nov 2019)

FAMILY BACKGROUND
Her father is Australian and her mother, who died of illness in 2014, was from Chinese Taipei. (english, 12 Nov 2019; nanrenwo, 15 Dec 2016)
