General
The Republic of Korea have won six gold medals in men's team epee at the Asian Games, which included a run of three consecutive titles between 2006 and 2014. Their sequence of victories ended at Indonesia 2018 with defeat in the semifinals to the People's Republic of China and they shared the bronze medal with Kazakhstan. The team's other gold medals came in 1986, 1990, and 1998.

The Korean team won their first Olympic medal at the 2020 Games in Tokyo, beating the People's Republic of China in the bronze medal match. It was their eighth appearance at the Games. Previous to that, the closest they had come to a medal was at the 2000 Games in Sydney where they lost the third place match to Cuba.

At the world championships, the Republic of Korea were losing finallists on three occasions between 2014 and 2018. The team are yet to win gold at the tournament. The Koreans have seen much more success at the Asian championships, securing eight titles since 2003. Their most recent gold came in 2022 in Seoul, where they beat Uzbekistan in the final.
