Ahmed Al Housni and Haitham Al Shereiqi are making their fourth Asian Games appearance as a pair at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. At the 2018 Games in Indonesia, the duo won two of their three preliminary round games to qualify for the knockout stages. Facing Gao Peng and Li Yang of the People's Republic of China in the round of 16, they lost in three sets and finished the tournament ranked joint-ninth. They also exited the tournament at the last 16 stage at Guangzhou 2010 and Incheon 2014.

Al Housni and Al Shereiqi competed together at the Asian championships in 2012, 2018, 2022, and 2023. The furthest they have progressed at the tournament is the round of 16, which they managed in 2012 and 2023. At the 2023 Asian Championships in Fuzhou, they lost to the eventual runners-up from Australia, Christopher McHugh and Paul Burnett.
