Team Overview

General
The Philippines' only appearance at the Asian Games came in Bangkok in 1998. They lost both of their group matches and finished with a ranking of sixth.

The Philippines placed sixth at the 2023 Asia Cup in Australia. They posted their only win of the tournament against Chinese Taipei, losing their other group games to Japan and Australia. Defeats to New Zealand in the first knockout round and the Republic of Korea in the fifth place play-off followed.

The Filipino team claimed their first title at the South East Asian Games as hosts in 2019, winning all of their matches in a four-team round-robin tournament. They also won gold at the 2021 Games, but had to settle for silver in 2023 in Cambodia, where their only loss in six round-robin games came against the Indonesian team that claimed gold.
