General
SINGLES TO DOUBLES
He decided to switch his focus from singles to mixed doubles in 2016. "This was one of the hardest decisions I have made in my career. I trained very hard but made very little progress in the singles, so decided on the switch to mixed. I was inspired by fellow Malaysian singles player Tan Kian Meng, who switched to mixed in 2015. I had to totally change my game but he showed me it can be done." (thestar.com.my, 08 Oct 2016)

DOUBLES PARTNER
He teamed up with mixed doubles partner Shevon Jemie Lai in October 2016. In December 2022 the pair announced their engagement. "We have been through many ups and downs over the years. The most important thing was that we managed to stick together through it all. Our dream is to make the cut for the 2024 Olympic Games."
