Her husband Amir Hosseini was part of the Iranian volleyball team that won gold at the 2011 Asian Championships in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran. He has also served as public relations manager for the Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation, and as Fasihi's personal coach. She took up gymnastics at age five. She was later encouraged to participate in a running race by her physical education teacher, where she set a new school record. "There were races at school. I registered quite incidentally and just for fun. But after the first round, I was running very well. When the school competitions ended, I realised I was interested in the sport.
