General
FAMILY SUPPORT
He achieved the long jump qualifying standard for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo through his performance at the 2021 Indian National Championships in Patiala. He says the achievement was the result of his family's efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. "I dedicate this achievement to my cousins. When everything was closed, they trained with me and it would not have been possible without them or my father. I'm also working with a dietician [speaking in 2021], he communicates the diet to my mother and she makes sure I stick to it. My father knew how tiresome [it can be] and what sort of dedication is required to excel at a higher level." (thehindu, 17 Mar 2021; olympics, 21 Mar 2021; The Bridge Facebook page, 14 Jun 2020)
