Additional Information

General
SHARED GOLD
She won gold in high jump at the 2017 South East Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She had finished the event tied for first-place with Vietnam's Duong Thi Viet Anh, and the pair had agreed to share the gold medal. However, the organisers later informed them that the gold could not be shared, and a jump-off was required. Viet Anh won the jump-off, but Singapore appealed and the original decision to share the gold was upheld. (mothership.sg, 17 Jan 2018; thestar.com.my, 26 Aug 2017)

RETIREMENT AND RETURN
She retired from the sport in 2011 after struggling with a stress fracture injury she first sustained in 2007. She was convinced to return to training in November 2013 by coach Chan See Huey, with a view to competing at the 2015 South East Asian Games in Singapore. OTHER ACTIVITIES
In 2016 she co-founded Singapore High Jump, an organisation that aims to support and promote high jump in Singapore. "You see the sprinters all the time, and everything is a bit more flashy. We were trying to promote the event, and show others that high jump is not that quiet. It's nice to be recognised. It's an individual sport, so I thought it would be good for everyone to get together and be a bit closer." (mothership.sg, 17 Jan 2018; Singapore High Jump Facebook page, 06 Jun 2018)

FURTHER EDUCATION
She obtained her post graduate certificate of education at the University of New South Wales in Australia. (Facebook profile, 27 Sep 2022)
