Team Overview

General
The Republic of Korea have won by far the most women's team recurve gold medals at the Asian Games with nine, and are in fact the only team with multiple Asian Games titles. They arrive in Hangzhou having won the last six gold medals, a run stretching back to the 1998 Games in Bangkok, and also triumphed three times in a row from 1982 to 1990.

At the 2018 Games in Indonesia, they topped the ranking round and saw off the challenge of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Japan in the knockout stages before beating Chinese Taipei 5-3 in the gold medal match. They were particularly dominant at Incheon 2014, failing to win only one set in the knockout stages.

The Republic of Korea have won gold at all nine editions of the Olympic Games since 1988. They have defeated Asian rivals the People's Republic of China in four Olympic finals [1992, 2004, 2008, 2012]. At the 2020 Games in Tokyo, they did not lose a set between the quarterfinals and their 6-0 gold medal match win over the ROC.

The team have also won the most world championship titles of any team [14], including seven this century. However, they were stunned by Indonesia at the 2023 World Championships in Berlin, Germany. Although the Koreans had topped the ranking round, they lost out to the Indonesians [who had finished 17th in the ranking round] 5-3 in the round of 16, which meant they did not finish in the top three at the world championships for the first time since 1999.
