Her ambition was to be a professional athlete, and she was a promising basketball player in her youth. She was persuaded to switch to archery by her coaches. "It is true that I find archery more suitable. At first I did not understand anything but when I started training, I found it very attractive. Switching from practising such a vibrant and dynamic sport as basketball into a static sport like archery has brought me really interesting experiences." (elle, 17 Jun 2020; nhandan, 28 Feb 2020; webthethao, 08 Jan 2020)
:
"Archery has forged my perseverance and calmness to know how to face difficulties and challenges in life. I must remain calm in every breath to persevere until the last arrow." (nhandan, 28 Feb 2020)

Additional Information
General
EARLY SUCCESS
She secured a spot for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo having only taken up archery in 2017. "I did not expect to have such success this soon. I have a long way to go before I can accomplish further goals at the Olympics, continental or South East Asian level. I still feel the need to improve my professionalism and achieve more results, so I still have to practise daily, hourly. What brings a higher meaning to what I do is to fulfil my dreams and bring pride to Vietnam." (elle, 17 Jun 2020; tdtt, 17 Feb 2020)
