Additional Information

General
FROM ROWING TO ARCHERY
He previously competed in rowing, including at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. He switched his focus to archery in 2012. "I did rowing initially, and I felt like I didn't have the support system in place to perform the sport in Sri Lanka, as the country is hot, there isn't much funding, and I felt like my size was on the short side for the sport. Then I picked archery as I felt it was more suitable for the body structure and that it was a more mental and technique oriented sport." (sundayobserver, 01 Aug 2021, 04 Oct 2020; sajeevdesilva, 18 Oct 2020; thepapare, 17 Jul 2019)

He has also worked as an operations manager for Empire Teas, a Sri Lankan tea export company, and as a director at Tea Avenue, a cafe in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
