NOC Overview
Nepal is yet to win a gold medal at the Asian Games, but has claimed two silver and 22 bronze medals since making its debut at the inaugural Games in 1951.
Men's taekwondoka Bidhan Lama claimed the NOC's first Asian Games medal [bronze] in 1986, while Sabita Rajbhandari claimed Nepal's first silver medal, taking second place in the women's 55kg category in 1998. Taekwondo has provided more than half of Nepal's medals, and the NOC's only multi-medallist, Deepak Bista, won two bronze medals in the sport in 2002 and 2006.
At the 2018 Games, Nepal only managed one podium finish, claiming its second silver medal courtesy of the men's cross-country paragliding team.
