Team Overview

General
Thailand secured bronze at the inaugural Asian Games 3x3 tournament in 2018, which featured U23 teams. Victories against the Islamic Republic of Iran and Kazakhstan saw the team advance to the quarterfinals, where they overcame Malaysia 15-13. Following a 21-16 semifinal defeat to Japan, they faced Chinese Taipei in a tight bronze medal game. After the score was 13-13 following the regulation period, it was Thailand who held their nerve in overtime to triumph 15-14 and claim the podium place.

The senior Thai team have made four appearances at the Asia Cup. Having been knocked out at the quarterfinal stage in 2019 and 2022, they recorded a tournament-best performance in 2023 by reaching the semifinals. However, they lost 21-8 to New Zealand and were then beaten 11-9 in the third place match by the People's Republic of China to miss out on a podium spot.

At other continental tournaments, Thailand secured gold at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games after winning the final 22-20 against Uzbekistan following overtime. They also claimed gold at the 2021 South East Asian Games in Vietnam, having been losing finalists at the 2019 Games in the Philippines.

The senior team's debut World Cup appearance came at the 2014 tournament in Moscow, where they did not win any of their five matches.
