Team Overview

General
Chinese Taipei competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, where 3x3 basketball made its Asian Games debut with U23 teams participating. In the preliminary round they posted wins over Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh as well as a defeat to the Republic of Korea to progress to the knockout stage. The team were then narrowly beaten by the Islamic Republic of Iran in the quarterfinals, 18-17, and ranked seventh overall.

The Chinese Taipei team finished ranked last of 20 teams at the 2022 U23 World Cup in Romania. They had performed better on their only previous appearance at the U23 World Cup in 2018, making it to the quarterfinals, where they lost to eventual champions the Russian Federation.

At senior level, the Chinese Taipei team appeared at all six editions of the Asia Cup between 2013 and 2023 without progressing further than the quarterfinals. At the 2023 edition of the tournament, they lost both of their games in Group A to Mongolia and hosts Singapore and did not qualify for the knockout stages. They lost at the quarterfinal stage in 2022 to eventual champions Australia, and in 2019 to the People's Republic of China.

Chinese Taipei made their debut at the senior World Cup in 2022, but struggled to make an impact and lost all four of their pool phase games.
