Team Overview

General
The Philippines are making their Asian Games debut in 3x3 basketball at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.

The team made their first appearance at the U23 World Cup in 2018 in Xi'an, where they defeated Turkmenistan and hosts the People's Republic of China but lost their other pool phase matches to Slovenia and Serbia and did not reach the knockout rounds.

At senior level, the Filipino team have made four appearances at the Asia Cup, and recorded their best result at the competition in 2022. They inflicted a shock 21-20 defeat on top seeds Mongolia in the quarterfinals, before losses to New Zealand and the People's Republic of China in the semifinals and third place play-off, respectively, saw them place fourth. The team were unable to emulate that performance at the 2023 Asia Cup, ranking 10th after losing both their pool phase games to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar.

The Philippines topped the podium when 3x3 made its first appearance at the South East Asian Games in 2019, winning all eight of their matches and defeating Indonesia 21-9 in the final to claim the gold medal on home soil. At the 2023 Games in Cambodia, they had to settle for silver after defeat to the hosts in the gold medal match. They also won bronze at the 2021 South East Asian Games, which took place in May 2022.

Between 2016 and 2018 the team played at three consecutive editions of the senior World Cup, with a highest ranking of ninth on their debut in 2016.
