Team Overview

General
Kyrgyzstan competed when 3x3 basketball first appeared at the Asian Games at Indonesia 2018, where U23 teams participated. Drawn alongside the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Mongolia, and Bangladesh, the team won one of their four matches [against Bangladesh] in Pool B and did not advance to the knockout rounds.

The Kyrgyzstani team took part in the U23 World Cup in 2018 and 2019. On both occasions they ranked last of 20 teams, losing all eight of the games they played across the two tournaments.

At senior level, Kyrgyzstan have made three appearances at the Asia Cup, competing in 2017, 2019, and 2022. The furthest they have progressed at the tournament is the quarterfinal stage [2017]. Most recently in 2022 they lost both of their matches in the qualifying round to Guam and Qatar. On their only appearance at the senior World Cup in 2018, they won one of four pool phase matches [against Romania] and ranked 16th out of 20 teams.

Kyrgyzstan just missed out on the podium at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. After losing in overtime against Iraq in the semifinals, they were defeated by Mongolia in the bronze medal match.
