Danang, Vietnam, September 19, 2016: The organising committee of the 5th Asian Beach Games in Danang, Vietnam, has published the Media Guide Book for all local and international media heading to the central coastal city this week. The ABG will open on Saturday, September 24 and run until October 3, with 14 sports, 22 disciplines and 172 events at four venue clusters along a 7-km stretch of the bay.
The guide book includes rules and regulations for all media in Vietnam, details on the Main Press Centre and International Broadcast Centre, medal standings from the previous four Asian Beach Games, contact numbers and services and facilities available for the media, including broadcasting, reporters and photographers.
The Chairman of the OCA Media Committee, Mr Charles Lo, provides a welcome message in which he says:
"The Asian Beach Games has proved to be a very popular event since it was launched by the OCA in 2008, and the media has played a big part in this success story. Thank you for your support, and long may it continue!
"The combination of sun, sand and sea, together with a fun and friendly environment, is a winning formula as it offers a thoroughly modern and family-oriented presentation of sport."
Mr Lo adds that the organising committee has provided a wide range of services for the media in the Main Press Centre (MPC) and also at the Sub Press Centres in the four venue clusters, and the short distance from the venues to the MPC should make for a comfortable and enjoyable working environment.
